Retreat in the Redwoods

Set in the beautiful redwoods near the Mendocino coast of California, DWeb Camp is a five-day retreat for builders and dreamers to connect, learn, share and have fun as we work towards building a better, decentralized web. A web that actualizes the principles of trust, human agency, mutual respect, and ecological awareness.

Our goal is to create a safe space and a caring community, grounded outside in nature, where we can explore the hidden dynamics and consequences of technology. A place where we can build tools to solve real-world needs. Where everyone can find their personal flow – that unique way they can contribute to the world.

Migration: Moving Together

Migration is a process of movement – of people, animals, data. It’s a journey from a tumultuous present into the unknown, toward a more hopeful future. But birds, butterflies, and people do not migrate alone. They move together in community, driven by a desire to reach a better place, helping each other toward their mutual destinations.

At DWeb Camp 2024, we’ll be exploring the theme of migration and how we can move together toward the Web we want and deserve. We’ll be tackling real-world challenges that technology may address: can we bring tools to migrate people and data onto the Decentralized Web? We’ll be sharing fundraising knowledge to help everyone find sustainable resources for their journeys. Musicians will perform new music about migration & climate change, while campers share their migration stories using the open source platform, Terrastories.
