Celebrating the release of our coloring book album of Huang Ruo’s meditative “A Dust in Time,” we will hold a release party at the Museum of Chinese in America in NYC.
Come experience a live performance of A Dust In Time by the Del Sol Quartet on Friday, October 15. This event also includes a sneak preview excerpt of Huang Ruo’s Angel Island: Oratorio for Voices and String Quartet.
Huang Ruo’s A DUST IN TIME《時間的塵埃》(Passacaglia for Strings) traces a meditative journey. Inspired by Tibetan Buddhist sand mandalas, the hour-long palindromic passacaglia grows towards ecstasy from silence before returning to its source. The Del Sol Quartet will release a new coloring book album, featuring A Dust in Time with accompanying hand-drawn mandalas, by artist Felicia Lee on October 15. Audiences will be able to participate in a coloring workshop while listening to the piece.
