The Office of Career Development will host a Lunch and Learn with the Del Sol String Quartet.

Del Sol String Quartet is based in San Francisco and was founded in 1992. They group will talk about their individual professional stories,  opportunities and trends they see in arts entrepreneurship, and skills, assets, and tips for students hoping to work in the arts

RED NOTE New Music Festival – Composition Workshop Performance (Normal, IL)

Del Sol is guest performers for the RED NOTE New Music Festival at Illinois State University.

This concert will feature guest ensembles Del Sol Quartet and loadbang. The ensembles will present eight world premieres of chamber works by composers chosen for this festival from around the country.

Del Sol performs string quartets by Alex Berko, David T. Bridges, Ian Evans Guthrie and Daniel Harrison.

Levine Music presents: “Composition Weekend: String Theory – Concert: Del Sol String Quartet”

The 2017 Composition Weekend brings together the provocative intensity and contagious engergy of the Del Sol with the rigorous poetry of composer Jeffrey Mumford and Levine high school composers. We will explore how string theory can be a parallel with the fusion of rhythmic energy, multi-voiced textures, and imaginative timbres that light up music.

Join us on Friday, April 7 at 7PM for Concert: Del Sol String Quartet
and Saturday, April 8 at 10AM for a Masterclass: Jeffrey Mumford and the Del Sol.

Program includes Jeffrey Mumford’s “The Promise of the Far Horizon” (premiere of revised version) and works by Gabriela Lena Frank, Lou Harrison and Ben Johnston.
